Writer's Prompts | The Man Who Just Wouldn't Quit

Effigy Press Admin

In the Podcast “The Man Who Just Wouldn't Quit” Tim and LeeAnna discussed the extraordinary 2nd and 3rd acts in the (seemingly endless) life of Paul von Hindenburg, Germany last leader before Hitler.

Which brings a fresh challenge for you writers. The prompt: Keep it under 600 words.

The first prompt is, to write about someone living a quiet and remote life, just like Hindenburg, and then the unexpected propels them on a new journey. It could be a younger person, an older person, but they are living a quiet and remote life. What is it that propels them on this new hero's journey?

Or someone considering an aspect of their life and wondering how it could maybe play out in the far distant future.

Or how about writing something from Ludendorff's perspective, him being this catalyst that he didn't realize he was.

Write whatever inspires you—just make sure it’s under 600 words. Pop it over to us through the submissions page. Who knows, maybe we'll even feature it on the podcast. Extra credit if you can make a passing reference to the Zeppelin disaster of 1939.
